Find You

Find You

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Not my best work, but as always brutally honest.

"

I lost You somewhere

I looked everywhere, You weren't there

I started to wonder if You only exist in my imagination

If every story they ever told was only a fairy tale

Every part of me wants to believe in You

And every part of me wants to believe You believe in me

Some part of me hasn't given up on You

I hope You never give up on me

You're the one I need to talk to

The one I must confess my sins to

But when I call out to You there's never any answer

My only reply is an eerie silence

My deepest shame is that in my most sacred moment

I couldn't feel Your presence, only emptiness

The water cool against my skin, but that was it

That was the moment my doubt began

Is there something wrong with me?

That is what I wondered

Are You absent or just not real at all?

That was my ultimate fear

But some part of me still believes in You

Some part of me still wants to believe that You

Can forgive me for my sins

The greatest one having questioned You

I lost you somewhere

But no one can help me find You

I have to search on my own

But even when I doubt I'm never alone...
