Passenger Seat

Passenger Seat

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

S. W. D. W.

"

No matter how old you are

No matter how big you grow

I'll still want you next to me

You'll always belong in that passenger seat

I'm stronger when I'm with you

Even though you're my weakness

And sometimes we forget

But we always find our way home

No matter how often we fight

You're the one I want by my side

Only you can see through my lies

Only you can break my tough facade

When I'm teetering on the edge

About to fall off the ledge

You're the one who draws me back

Who reminds me of who I really am

So no matter how old you are

And no matter how big you grow

You'll always belong in that passenger seat

Because you'll always belong to me
