Echo

Echo

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

Echo

An original poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I remember when she used to smile

The distant echo that is her laughter

The blue eyes that once were so full of life

They have become empty abysses

I remember the sound of her footsteps

As she danced through the house

She had the voice of a choir of angels

And a beauty that captivated all

It seems like so long ago she last smiled

Ever since he came into her life

He took something fragile and beautiful

Now she is only an echo of her former self
