Over the Fields they Run

Over the Fields they Run

A Poem by Hanna Lily
"

Continuation of "Fire in the Night".

"
Over the Fields they Run

He holds her fast,
And they run together,
The stars are once again shining,
In the absence of fire.

The grass is cold under their feet,
Frost creeps up her skin of marble,
But they do not falter,
Over the fields they run.

The chill burns more than fire,
An icy flame,
But it is nothing compared to the fate they have escaped,
Nothing like the cold fear in their hearts.

A bleak curtain covers the stars,
The sky is shedding the leaves of winter.

Those who pursue them,
Disappear in a black and gold mist,
The girl and boy collapse upon the ground,
In each others arm.
