Quietus

Quietus

A Poem by Hannah's Writing
"

This poem is about the death of a girl, in all of its majesty.

"

She tastes the blue sky on her tongue

As she touches the burning sun

And the roses in her eyes bloom

Turning the hand on the clock to noon

The tame raven dances on her sweater

As birds of a feather flock together

Flickering the candle she holds in her hand

Making it grow beneath her on the brassy land

Flames twist and twirl up the abandoned oak

Lighting the brisk air bright and awoke

Devouring psychedelic limb leaf by leaf

Her decrepit heart cannot compete

Quietly she goes into the night

Her own little fire raging out of sight
