The Final Confession

The Final Confession

A Poem by hardik

My heart's beating very fast
I dunno which beat will be my last
As I lie here waiting to die
I realize I never got to say bye

Farewell my dear beloved
Always smile and don't be sad
Although I know that you wont be
You've never loved me you see

I remember when I first saw you
You were standing ahead of me in a queue
Both waiting for our respective turns
Both our minds filled with concerns

I had felt something that day
I recall that now when on my deathbed I lay
It was minute but now I feel it
My heart had for first time skipped a beat

Remembering your smile brings me peace
My heart rate begins to ease
Now your memory brings tears to my eyes
All this is true no lies

These are tears of joy not pain
Soon in a coffin I'll be lain
A last farewell is what I seek
A smile of yours however meek

I dunno what happens after death
But I'm sure as I take my last breath
If I could have one look at your face
Eternal peace is what I will embrace
