high maintenance

recently, i've become
occasionally manic.
i'm not always like this, i think.
i don't want you to think you must maintain me
tighten my screws and oil my hinges
and worry every second about pissing me off.

but we're so good
because although your hands are blackening from work done,
i never seem to fall from up where you have placed me.
