DAD

DAD

A Poem by SCRIBBLER
"

I just wanted to write something about my dad who is always there for me.

"

He is one never to ask, for a simple thank you.

One who may never boast, for his precious attitude.

He is one with few to say, one whose day is far from dismay.

He just goes on quietly working, with seldom dreams.

He has little wants, but a massive need.

Us, his family.

He is one to share happiness, one who will not remind gloom.

He is there, a firm foundation.

One on which I have situated dreams.

His shoulders able to carry, the weight of my life.

A weight full of stubborn, surprising cries.

A true friend we can turn to, one who can support.

He is one of our greatest blessing. He is the man I call Dad.

Those who have good dads can appreciate this. It brought my stepdad to mind, who has always been there for me even if I didn't think he was. I really enjoyed this.

Doing good. and good luck seeing your dad hope you have a wonderful time. :D
I think a lot of people probably have said this, but I will too. This makes me think of my daddy. He passed 7 years ago but reading this, it feels a bit like yesterday. It is so well expressed...such a good pure soul filled with love. Beautiful piece of work!

thank you so much. hope it made u feel better like many others
This reminds me a lot about my own dad and how he always places mine and my brother's lives before his own. Beautifully written and relatable in so many ways. "A true friend we can turn to, one who can support", I especially love this line.

Your poem strikes a chord. I related it to my own father and find that it fits well on a personal level. Great job of capturing love, respect and mystery in the collective father figure. Thanks for sharing your work.

You are very much welcome..
This is an awesome tribute piece to your father. We don't get to pick and choose our dad but from day one they try their best to be the best possible father they can be. Through the good and bad they are always ours and no one else can take that away. To have a dad that is there and takes pride in his ability to father is a blessing. Awesome write SCRIBBLER... loved it! :)
