poem: Ephemeral Promises

poem: Ephemeral Promises

A Chapter by Marie Anzalone
"

speak, my dear friend, of naught but truth forever more, and be not afraid to shine

"

Ephemeral Promises

Visit me tonight, while you dream of beautiful things-
like the dew, the starlight, the way the wind rustles the leaves-
and the revelations confessed only in hints-
While reality was held, for that moment, suspended.

Tease my creative mind awake with your startling insight ,
Soothe my troubled heart with your kindest words
Take this exhausted body gently into your embrace-
And make love to my spirit as if forever were really ours to grasp.

Let the dew soak into our raimants cast upon the ground
and the starlight sustain us in remembered innocence-
Let the breezes carry the cries of two hearts' longing,
to that place where dreaming souls entwine, dancing in the open air

The fireflies will blaze like beacons of hope in this world-
as nebulas explode in our hearts in another,
Your inner diamond’s light filling and replenished by
The whispered breath of my soul, passing by, and through-

a messenger, perhaps, if nothing more. Awaken- for you have been freed.

I am speechless , you did it again , and this time , its one of the most beautiful love poems I ever read :)

Let the breezes carry the cries of two hearts' longing,
to that place where dreaming souls entwine, dancing in the open

What can I say, when two souls belongs to each other, the distance is double, the more you try to get closer , you feel the way just become longer , when two souls love each other, there is no distance between, just the time that will pass , until they meet again :)

Here's to quiet, passionate, dreamy thoughts of romance. This poem is really impressive. Imagery, check. Emotion, check. Flow, check. You are a phenomenal writer Marie.

This is so beautifully moving. It truly slows the heart rate just to pass through the passion of your words, bringing worlds to life through this light. The last line just perfectly speaks hope into the reader. Amazing poem!
