Symphony of Devastation and Creation

Symphony of Devastation and Creation

A Poem by Hayley

Statement.
I live where the sun will not shine
Where we intersect and our souls
Dissociate. I live on the line
Between good and evil, right
And wrong, past and future
I live where you cannot rise.
Because I distorted your mind
I must pay a price for my
Devious little crime.
I will rise to meet you again
Soon we will have the world
And you will fall.

Statement.

So our plan is set, the planes
Take off, the world is ours
To save or destroy, unfortunately
It is the latter I choose. You fly
So gracefully, with your chemicals
Trailing behind you, a trail of
Death. We look to the sky
And we see ourselves, our hopes,
Our ideas, all ground into dust
And used to suffocate us, silence us,
Defeat us, mock us. We have
Sinned, we have fallen, we are
Getting ready to unleash the bomb
And our plan is set in motion.
With a great big bang.
And a closing note is that of our
Souls resting in pain.

Fantasia.

So let the rain fall, as it may
Let it wash away everything
That is in the past. Your footsteps
Are the fingers on the piano and
Your breath is the bow on the
Cello, your heart beat is the
Mallet on drum. Breathe deep,
Walk steady and the song will
Go on. The wreckage will not
Stop, no, you are much too strong.
Inside you is the cry of humanity.
And the rain falls harder now
On you, and your ruined world.
Raise your arms to the sky and
Conduct that symphony of devastation.
Raise your face to the rain and let it
Put your heart in the right key.
The end of the world has come
And it didn’t destroy you.

Restatement.

I live where the sun will not shine
Where the plans are no longer,
Set in motion, where we belong
To the falling rain. And that last note
Hits
A note of
Resolution.
