I've never been so happy...don't know if this is any good or not, would love some opinions :))

Just when I'd abandoned all hope,

Just when I'd given up on love,

You just appeared in my life,

Like an angel from above.

 

I know that may sound cliché,
Stereotypical for someone my age.

But what I feel for you is so real,

It grows stronger with each passing day.

 

It's the small things that make me love you,

You can always make me smile.

You open the door wherever we go,

And always talk to my mom for a while.

 

I look up and catch you staring

Every night there in the dark.

The look in your eyes says so much,

Shows me what's in your heart.

 

You hold me close as we lie there,

I can feel your breath on my skin.

I know soon you'll go back to Lubbock,

Two weeks until I'll see you again.

 

But I'm not worried in the least,

I know every night you'll call.

And I know things will be even harder

When we start school again in the fall.

 

But most of all I know that I love you,

You've erased everything bad from my mind.

Healed all traces of scars left by others,

Freed my heart from it's bind.

 

You don't know this but I prayed for you,

Asked God to show me why,

Why I hurt,and if love isn't just a myth,

Then prove it, God, show me the guy.

 

And I've never met anyone quite like you,

Who respects my values and loves me true.

You never cease to amaze me,

God answered my prayer and really came through.

This is amazing! I'm still young and I've never been in love with anyone so I sort of assumed love is a myth, like you said. But how could people write poems like this unless, somehow, it's real?
