Still Hiding

Still Hiding

A Poem by Emily Cochran
"

Poem about scorned love. It's guided towards those who love someone who can't or will never love them back.

"

It’s hard to pretend to be something you’re not

To crave something you can never have

To wish you could sway your mind

To make you want me

In the same way

But I know it’s unlikely

Because you aren't like I am

Two totally different human beings

However, our paths have crossed before

And you've made me feel like I’m wanted too

So I thought maybe you liked me too

But that just made it hurt worse

When I saw you chase him

I know it is not right

It’s not right for me to care

shouldn't hate you for all this

But you just keep pushing me away

It hurts to know, you’ll never feel how I have

The way I feel about you will never cease to fail

And what scares me every waking moment

Is that I will never get over these sensations

It will remain inside me like an evil curse

Can only be broken by true love’s kiss

A kiss frowned upon by our society

Only to be found in my dreams

Longing to become reality

But I know, never will.

Author's Note

Emily Cochran
It is supposed to be choppy/jumpy like the emotions of one questioning their feelings for someone they can never have.
