Poem 27. Dear Dhaye (A Letter to Myself)

Poem 27. Dear Dhaye (A Letter to Myself)

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

A Letter to Myself

"

Dear Dhaye, my inner child

How are you today?

I hope you’re fine and mild

To find the safest way.

You walk with tears each jiffy

Like season not controlled;

Bearing cross of scarcity

Like an  inherited curse.

Dear Dhaye, my teenage lass

You’re  in such great discomfort

Each day you go on class

with wrinkled pair of clothes.

They laughed at you more frequently

For them you’re such a bore;

With that you grew with inferiority

But struggled much with honor.

Dear Dhaye, my adult guise

You’ve grown up but it’s idem;

The crying baby and my child

My fearful teenage girl.

You cry in those sharp voices

Afraid of  people’s judgment;

You still do have that weakness

No strength to show your talent.

Dear Dhaye, my ripened person

I’m glad you tasted your plate;

You fought  for your opinion

And stood high for your faith.

You’re no longer that helpless

Accepted judgment brightly;

You  opened doors for progress

 And live with pride and integrity.

amazing ~ i love this... its the you through all the years... the you that evolved into a fine woman with great integrity... in each stanza i see your growth, your journey with struggles... and in the end you stand tall... you know kabayan, one thing i learned from my verses is that we grow strong in each challenge, struggles, and pains we had just passed... we become wiser through the years... giving up to death or other vises are never the answer...but giving in is a different matter... i guess that's how we learned the word acceptance....

great work kabayan...
i give you 1oo for quite an amazing work!
