Poem 17. YOU LEFT ME

Poem 17. YOU LEFT ME

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

A Tanka

"

I don’t understand

Why you left me all alone

Without a goodbye

Or even a simple sign.

Now you left me with a scar…

I have this quote in mind when i read this piece:
"A man doesn't know how to say goodbye while a woman does not know when say goodbye."
While i am not really fond of looking for signs as i might interpret it, i believe that leaving someone is not done overnight. The same is product of long deliberation. Perhaps, we might not see it or most probably, we are in state of denial and we just could not accept such probability. It's strange that my comment is way longer than your poem dhaye. It's just my way of saying that this piece reminded me of those past goodbyes. Short but meaningful!

Thanks, Neon. A writer can express all of his/her emotions thru his/her pen...sad or happy feelings.
I've had my own shares of those unexplained and unexpected goodbyes, too. They're the worst farewells of all. The first four lines sound like a cliche to me but the last line speaks volumes. Good write! :x

My pleasure ...:)
People come and go. Each follows a different road from yours. Roads normally cross that's why people find each other but then again, people go because they must. It's gonna be an endless cycle and you have to learn to live with it. This however is a great poem:)
