UNTIL THE SUNSET

UNTIL THE SUNSET

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

I will wait...

"

You came
Like the wind that gently embraced me
And made me sway and dance for a moment
Then suddenly frittered me away
And left me alone with a graze.

You were the wind
When once I dreamed of love
To be forever
But showed yourself as a gale
Which toughly brushed my skin
And left me with a sore.

And I...

I am still the fragile flower in the field
Waiting for the gale to roll in
Like before
Even for a moment
To brush my skin
And leave me even deeper wounds.

I don't care.

I don't care how many wounds
And how many scars will be left on me.
Just come again.
Embrace me.
Feel me.
Sway with me
Until my weakness  entrench my roots
And make me bite the dust.

I will wait...

For the wind
That once my coarse blanket.

I will wait...
From the first light

Until the sunset.

Amazing, Dhaye! You started with a smooth flow of thought and rhythm and this stanza

"I don't care.
Just come again.
Embrace me.
Feel me.
Sway with me
Until my weakness entrench my roots
And make me bite the dust."

speaks or urgency and desperation. Then you dramatically shifted to enthralling smooth lines and you ended the poem exceptionally. I'm proud of you, my fellow Filipino. ;) Keep up the good work. :x

*Thanks, Rita.
A very sad and beautiful poem. I could feel the longing for something missed. I like the use of nature. We can fall into nature and know some sort of peace. Thank you for the amazing artwork and poetry.

I think you penned what a lot of people do when they think they have found what they were looking for in love. Sometimes we don't always do what is best but it is a lesson we learn!! Great write :)
