Poem 54. The Star

Poem 54. The Star

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Once in my life, I looked up the sky...

"

Once in my life I dreamed of a star

        Brilliant

         Clever

         Dazzling.

I became a victim of it’s beauty

         Naive

         Wistful

         Raw.

So much pain was there

        Longing

        Waiting

        Dreaming.

But last night I woke up

         I realized

         I admitted

         Liven up.

It was just a dream

         For a star

         An unreachable star

         That couldn’t be mine.

So now, I’m no longer looking up

          To seek for another star

For there are more beautiful things

          Beside me.

So now, I’m no longer looking up
To seek for another star
For there are more beautiful things
Beside me.

Precisely, there are more beautiful things beside and inside us that are waiting to be recognized and or to be tap...I think it is with man's nature that we sometimes forgot to notice those little yet more important things around us in quest for a bigger dream, but what is good here from the speaker is that she realized the lapses.

This is a marvelously thoughtful work filled with sensitivity and raw emotion. I liked the style and form and in all, it is a truly enjoyable read.

My pleasure...:)
i love the theme of this. While there's nothing wrong in aiming for the stars or anything that is gigantic, we must also be able to determine what is reasonable, realistic and feasible.
