IF ONLY (Rhyme)

If only I could walk

a thousand roads to find you there
Or even swim a hundred seas

to see your face, my dear
If only I could fly for long,

be there to where you stand
I'll do my best to find you there

so I can hold your hand.

If only for a moment, dear,

I have to close my eyes
To dream a dream where there you are,

with no more hues of lies
If only there in my sleep,

I hear those words from you
I'll sleep a thousand years, my dear,

so I won't see you go.

If only I could be the one,

the bravest of my kind
I'll cry out loud that it's your heart

which I always want to find

If only, oh, if only dear,

our time is right for us

I’ll only stay there in your arms 

until the moment lasts…

I love this poem, Dhaye! It's so beautifully written. It really struck many emotions for me.

Thank you, Scott. When I can't think of any subject for my poem, I used to read pieces to be my muse in writing, then I will make a response poem (the poem was posted as a review/ comment to anyone's piece).

That's my technique when I have a writer's block.

I get the block too..sometimes a person or something they might have said will give me a hint..but I would say that 99% comes from personal experience.
It's kind of odd that you number your poems..not bad type odd..just different.
