A flower's plea on summer days

Rain, why are you so aloof to me?

Come on over, embrace and kiss me

It’s been so long I haven’t felt your touch

I won’t deny that I missed you so much.

Oh, rain, I’m just here waiting for you

I want to whisper how I love you so

Your drops are what I missed since you go away

Sweet kisses to my skin, oh please do stay.

Kiss me once more, my beloved rain

Wash away my sadness, emptiness and pain

That  music of your drops, I also long to hear

I need you in my life, that is true, my dear.

I understand this poem. I have stood in the rain trying to find understanding. The above lines took me to sad and lonely places. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Rain is a blessing from G-d. It's the purest water, bred by the majestic clouds above. But the idea of rain washing away all of our woes is the greatest of its traits. This poem did rain justice. I could almost hear the haunting voices of the droplets, and feel them cool upon my skin. Wonderful work.

In the drought of life we need rain....this is a beautiful piece with a haunting tone. I love the way you personify it. I have a love hate relationship with it myself. :) Bravo!

Thanks, Queenie.
A very well written piece. I really like the structure and how you personify the rain and bring it to life with your words. Also, I love the echoes of Wordsworth and Blake that come rushing at me while reading the poem.
