TAKE ME OUT HERE

TAKE ME OUT HERE

in the dark

Lord, I've been taking this long and winding road
Too many times I fell with too much heavy load
This path is thorny, it's too rough and cold
Now I have no one, I have nothing to hold.

Oh, please do guide me and help me find my way
Every moment is dark, it seems there's no day
If I would only live with this long, lonely night
Please be my lamp, my Lord, please give me Your light.

Take me out here in this dark path of life
I'm suffering too much from this unbearable strife
Take me out of the dark, Lord, I want to see Your light
All I want is to love, take me out of this plight...

It is during dark times that we recognize the greatness and power of the divine being. I love this prayer-poem . Your rhyme scheme is impeccable as always.

The song is one of the songs i listened to whenever i'm overwhelmed with worries/anxieties and it never fails to comfort me....glad to see you back dhaye. =)

A spiritual surrender is a sign of inner strength and not a weakness.
We all need help sometimes cause life is not always easy and we are only human.

Thanks, Pax.
Dhaye, your poem was like a breath of fresh air. I really felt that way, just today. I was reading some of the 'read requests' of those who asked for my friendship on Writer's Cafe, and I had to remove one lady as a friend after reading her X-rated, anti-Christian poem. It was meaningless and vulgar. Then I read your wonderful prayer-poem here and it really lifted my spirits after a discouraging day. Thanks for always being ready to share your faith in your poetry. Some might scoff at Christianity and those who write favorably about it, but I do appreciate it and you.

Thank you, Eddie. I always appreciate your presence on my page.
I felt the power of the prayer, the cascading emotions of sincerity, the innocence of the heart. The song was wonderful too...:)...................

I get here at least once a month. It's like 75% of the time we think we can bear it all, but that other 25% is when we are at are weakest and need guidance, assistance and our voids filled. I related so much to this poem. Very honest, raw and therapeutic.
