flicker

flicker

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

inside

"

There's this light in me
I felt it's beam and rays
I let it scattered through
The darkness of this place

With hopes and dreams that black
Could turn into pure white
Like storm and thunder that
Can be quiet for a while

They say that flicker of light
Could be that burning flame
When wind blows into it
The fire won't be the same

I want to keep this light
This fire within my heart
And only you could help me
To keep this flame alive

You gave your words of promise
A pledge I won't forget
But there inside my room
That fear is on my sheet

And somehow the light could turn
Back into flicker, so sad
The spark will end into ashes
When good change into bad

So please help me keep this
The flicker that once you made
Let's keep this light of us
Don't let this color fade.

If you are fighting writer's block, as you said, and yet wrote 'Flicker', I would say you are winning the battle. Very nicely done. Remember, all raging fires began at one point with a small flicker of flame. Still thinking and praying for you, Dhaye

We can be many colors my dear friend.

The above lines, I do understand. We must attempt to keep the love flame burning always. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

What an awesome idea Dhaye . Love the introspection on this one. I have been as well on a long and extended writers block. After my piece " Butterflies and Dandelions " ... that's it ... I have scribbled so many lines with different ideas and topic but could never expound it. I used to pen poem in a single day. I think I lost my mojo ...
Its same thing when I was or have been playing and studying and training to be a strong chess player. I reached my peak and defeated my strongest opponent and nemesis . I have a feeling that my poetry life is about to come to bittersweet end ...The spark is gone and the fire is spent ... wait wait wait ..I think I am spinning some lines here that could turn into a piece ...HaHaHa

i could not see or feel any trace of writer's block in here. Although i believe that a writer, like you, will always find something to write about. there's still the need to be zealous in nurturing that flicker.
