The War

The War

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Within oneself

"
There's a woman seeing much trouble
but she's always grateful of this life

She could be living in miseries and pain
but she never forgets to smile

She knows that life is a homo duplex
yes, she believes in life's duality

The yin and yang, the bad and good, black or white
she could be sad or happy

But such reality of life, one cannot change
but understand and accept

For if she will live with objections
would it give her peace and won't regret?

Oh human, the war within oneself must be treated
with care so you'll understand

That life's gift after winning a battle
is best enjoyed when you don't always demand.

Yes indeed, always best not to expect too much and then the disappointments will be few !

A fine cerebral piece of poetry, worth reading & reviewing again, another splendid piece of literature Dhaye !

Our existence is full of ups and downs, of joys and challenges and of rewards and punishments…Understanding the duality could bring could give us better and more positive perspective in dealing with the negative aspect of the duality.. Love the wisdom you shared specially the last couplet…we appreciate more what life brings us, if we do our best in every duties/actions without expecting anything in return.

Thanks, Gab.
A fine and refreshingly holistic write, full of moral philosophy and the advantageous benefits of a life lived devoid of bitterness and resentment!

Impressive as always Dhaye !

An interesting look at someone who has accepted the ups and downs of life. There is a feeling of surrendering to fate in this piece, which is certainly an option in life, but I also see a woman who finds happiness in 'much trouble" and smiles while 'living in miseries and pain', and this shows a deeper wisdom too. As long as there are hopes and dreams, then accepting the highs and lows of life are bearable.

A thoughtful poem, well done.

Life does have its up and downs, that is why we need to appreciate the good things when they are happening and ride out the storm of the bad ones. Love the positiveness that sings from this poem.
