At The Sea

At The Sea

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

of love

"

Footprints
Long ago -
     can't hold

Warm water
Yesterday-
       now cold

Clear sky
In the past-
      it's gone

Dreams made
Not alone-
     undone

Seawall
Once that strong-
      Broken

Seabirds
Together-
      unseen

Two hearts
Believing-
        asking

One love
Forever-
         hoping

I like the style of this piece, Dhaye. Every stanza requires me pause and ponder on what it wants to convey. This is what i get on this piece: Circumstances are always changing. What is sweet today may turn out sour one day; what is strong yesterday may turn weak today... We can never predict the future but we can always hope and believe that the future will turn out better than today.

Beautiful and hopeful poem. The sea and love. Two pieces needed to create a forever memory. Thank you dear Poet for sharing the amazing poetry.

Well deserved my friend. ...=)
*SIGH*… Love is perfect but humans are not, and all we can hope for is love is strong enough to overcome our imperfections. Your words and hauntingly beautiful my friend.

yes, as lydi said...."bittersweet"

there is love and hope at the end...but earlier on...that feeling that nothing beautiful lasts...

i have found too often, love is ephemeral...no matter how hard we try to preserve it.
