THE VICTIM

THE VICTIM

She was raped and abused
Told her story to her lawyer
But recalling the scene in her mind
Couldn't make her feel better

She had a depression after
Feeling that she's dirty
Afraid that when everyone knows it
She will be called bad and ugly

Who will listen or believe me?
They will think the fault was mine
If I did not show myself to him
Perhaps he won't be tempted to cross the line

Her lawyer really wants to fight
But she started keeping quiet
Why not?  The man who raped her
Has now the stage finally set

Many victims like her in this world
End with a hopeless decision
Fearing life would be different
Just a pessimist's intuition

So sad but these sleaze bag attorneys a put the victim on trial rather than the rapist,No means No needs to be understood. These feelings are experienced by most, not only rape but other crimes as well.God needs to be the center of society but there is too much resistance to just being respectful and honest these days.Bravo for you Dhaye to display these truthful feelings of the victims.

that's the sad reality of things, the darker side of humanity's manipulation within our society... very realistic piece, pretty friend... :)

I watched Biktima long time ago.. I think there were two victims portrayed in there: the rape victim (if I am not mistaken was played by Gina Alajar) and the lawyer. Some rape victim would rather keep their silence especially when the accused is from an influential and rich family. You cannot imagine what dirt they will throw just to stain your credibility. Another aspect in the movie that struck me most was when the lawyer became a victim herself. I believe that such depiction in the movie could happen even in real life- smart, educated people are not spared from charm and manipulation.

Well, I haven't seen the movie, but from the multitude of tales that make the news, I'm quite sure her story isn't uncommon. I've never figured out how a man could use something that is meant to be a beautiful act of love and turn it into a horrible act of violence. I personally believe there will be an exceptionally deep and dark pit of hell for rapists. Well done, Dhaye, thanks for giving a voice to the victims of sexual violence.
