Last Time

Last Time

A Poem by Taji Herbert

This is the last time i can let you go
With out kissing you good bye

Because the last time
We were just friends
The fact is
The last time i touched your hand
Or seen your face
Has left a permanent after image
I see you even when I'm not asleep
So i guess I'm not so 3rd eye blind
Because your image alone
Makes me elated and enlightened
So you don't have to worry that
Days have turned into nights and
Or that our summer love become winter paradise will fade away like School days
Because unlike last time I'm no longer in a school daze
I'm alert , for now my school days are over
And I'm tryna stay focused man
But as for the last time
I was all out of magic
There was no more hocus pocus there
I was just plain ole me tryna live the life of Samantha
But my nostrils rarely itch
So my nose never twitched and
Things always changed in a stranger way than predicted
But some how between now and the last time
You have become bewitched and
I just don't know why
So this is the last time i will ever bite my tongue
I'm a poet i need my five senses
I'm so close to victory i swear i can taste it
And i know it wont be the last time
