Illegally Blind

Illegally Blind

A Poem by Taji Herbert

Open your eyes

Your 20/20 vision is impaired

Look here

You don’t see what I am saying

The electronic pulse

From your pupil to your brain

Just hasn’t sparked

Blind to the world around you

While staring it in the face

You can’t make you if you are here or there

Here smells different

There sounds different

But in a state of eternal blink

Your senses are paused

With no play button in sight

It all seems too serious

Illegally blind with 20/20 vision

You’ve lost sight of it all

No hind sight

No foresight

A picture is worth 1000 words

But you’re at a loss for verbs

This is the Nation of the Illegally Blind

there are things i like about this , especially the message of action is the only to get things done - to get things changed .
