"Irony" Is An "Epic Fail" With Too Much Grace

Its hard to fall apart gracefully.

There is a box in my room

Reserved for you

And all the love I know you have

For me and my brokenness.

I love you too,

But I can't lock these memories,

They are just too bittersweet.

You are my 11:11 wish

All this "love" is just a sickness,

because it wakes me up

in the middle of the night.

You could say that its medicine

because now I'm certain I'm alive.

 

Only the living ever die.

 

So when you open your eyes

Remember the smile

I wore when I lay on the ice

of my frosty skin.

I'm NOT a vampire!

(I'm not even scared of fire)!

My heart is yours to lose.

So when I forget the truth,

Will I forget you?

Or will I die?

 

I don't know if you'll make the funeral,

Just promise you'll try.

 

I know you'll bring me back to life.

I think maybe I let my honesty get in the way of poetry. I took a lot of the lines from unfinished songs of mine.

This is so interesting to me. Because you say the "love" is both a sickness and medicine, which is a really intriguing idea. And as far as the lines from songs, I think everyone takes things from other artists and tweaks them to be unique, so don't worry about it. This way a really interesting read though, it made me think. Good job. :).

Awww Heidi, I love your work, it makes me smile and wish I could be around you so much more than I am, I literally find myself wishing there more hours in a day just so that I could talk to you more.
