FAREWELL MY LOVE

FAREWELL MY LOVE

A Poem by Helena

To me you were the song the nightingale trills

in the lonely spaces of a music’s beat

a heart’s violin string deep in the strains

of love’s orchestrated melody…

A wandering minstrel waltzing into my life

from a place far beyond understanding

leaving prints sculptured on my soul

memories forever in the cloisters of my heart…

I won’t be the same ever again, how could I be?

having known the melody your poems sung to me

the comfort of a grieving life never having known

true love…

You had to go….. I knew that from the start

Oh, how I dreaded that hour

the finale of our unfulfilled destiny

a whiff of love’s perfume gone sour

 the ever slow endless metronome beating of

life ebbing towards oblivion..

Farewell my love.

~~~
Wow, Helena, this is a deeply meaningful and emotion work. Using music, the 'lonely spaces of a music's beat' throughout really strikes at the heartstrings. This is really a tremendous piece of writing. I can't say enough good things about it. You shared something about yourself in this.
So beautifully bittersweet, painted on such a vivid canvas in the colors of life and love... Every word just flows so effortlessly, bringing alive this poignant farewell... Absolutely wondrous...
I always wanted to write a poem entitled "farewell my love. this is tranquil, a somber melody played
as a soul whisper acting like magic's lulling breeze spanning itself across the windswept valley of the soul,
every sentiment sang by the muse of wonderously enchanting brings the reader to the land of dreams
and all things masterful and beautiful, like looking at a perfect painting. Lovely work Helena
