Take me...

Take me...

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

Take me back to that place,

Where the air was dry,

Take me back to the belief,

Take me back to the child in the field,

So ignorant of her grief,

Take me back,

Take me back to faith.

Take me back to innocence,

Take me back to clarity,

Take me back to sincerity,

Take me back to the teenage girl,

Sleeping and crying in the tree,

Take me back,

Take me back to reality.

I find my fantasy to differ from your story,

I find my life to consume my death,

I find my water to smother your fire,

I find my lust to cure your desire.

Take me back to joy.

Take me back to dust.

Take me back to simplicity,

Take me back to lust.

This is a roller coaster of emotion.

***Take me back to the child in the field, So ignorant of her grief,****

These lines really stood out to me. It makes me think of people that had hard lives growing up, lacking many things, but they still found happiness. They grew up and looked back years later realizing that they were depressed, but were lucky enough not to know what depression was.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and every person that reads this poem will want to go "back". "Back" may be heaven to some that take voyeur peeks at others...or it may be a place they would never go. All in all...this poem gets to the heart of every reader.
