mr. man...

mr. man...

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah
"

Kinda a bitter memoir to my father. Songs depict what we have hidden deep in our hearts.

"

Sitting on a rock one day,

I pondered the one true way,

I wondered about the heavens up above,

And I wondered how a person so old,

Can be so absent of love...

mr. man,

Answer me if you can,

Is it lonely up there on your throne?

Are you growing older as time slips away,

Are you filled with insulting words to say,

Or are you,

Filled with the holy spirit,

mr. man, tell me is it true,

Is it true that Jesus speaks to you?

mr. man,

I have a random plan,

I'm living my life like God intended,

Not caring about the sins I've committed,

But enjoying beauty in all it's falsities,

Jesus Christ has been ringing my doorbell,

But I've never been home,

Oh mr. man,

mr. man.

You're a prisoner,

mr. man,

You're your own jailer,

That book of blood that you hold so dear,

It won't embrace any of your tears,

You'll be wasting your time with all your fear,

Oh mr. man, won't you lend me your ear?

Oh, mr. man....

Aren't you afraid that the end is near?

Oh, mr. man,

I used to be respectful to your decree,

But now I laugh at your crucified tree,

Your prophecies now mean nothing to me...

Oh, mr. man.

You really went to a place many are afraid of. The conviction of your words is fearless. I felt a lot of frustration in this piece, but oddly enough I didnt feel the overwhelming anger that many people need to say such things. Maybe that's what makes the impact of the words so jarring. It feels like someone had many things on their mind for a long time. You wrote a very controversial piece. This took courage and integrity as a writer to post. You are a true artist. Aside from all that fluff stuff, I was really into the flow.

Fearless writing here, I love it. All questions and feelings that many have but are afraid to speak. Some may be afraid to review, but to me, information and questioning is where a solid foundation of belief starts, reagrdless of what you believe in. Bravo, nice job.
