Sugar Town Band

Sugar Town Band

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

I don't know who you are,

I don't know what you're like,

I just know that somewhere inside,

You're heart is taking flight,

Oh for every boy and girl,

An angel is hiding somewhere in the world,

Waiting for the day where you trip and fall,

To pick you up and sit you against some wall,

So please, my angel somewhere out there,

Please listen to my sad sad plea,

Isnt there anyone in this whole big world for me?

I stay out all night going from pub to pub,

Draining my sorrows in an old glass cup,

Cuz I'm pretty sure as the night goes on,

The ache in my chest won't be so strong,

And every morning the pound in my head,

matches that of the Sugar Town Band,

The drumming and singing and marching; it drowns,

These sorrows away with the queens and their crowns,

Till the night appears once more and I go on again,

Listening to the mourning of the Sugar Town Band.
