Why I Can't Sleep

Why I Can't Sleep

A Poem by Alyssa C.

There I lie down,

Clasping my blankets

As the darkness smothers me.

I extend my arm

but stifle for a moment.

The intimidating darkness

detains my body and

my thoughts.

All I do is degrade

myself for the millions

of lies, and my

arrogant ways.

Because of my ways, I

live a hectic life

with an abundant amount

of darkness and

loneliness.

I jeopardized my reputation

because of my ways.

I lie there in my bed

letting the soft wind graze

my face, seeking a moment

of tranquility.

Seeking a moment

to elude from my ways.

When will I eclipse from the others?

When will I have my moment of triumph?

Ah
You just make me jealous
But triumph is worthless
Write because you love writing
Not for anyone else but yourself =)

Aww shucks. Thank you :)
Picturesque. I don't know what your ways are, but for what it's worth, I fell in love with your way of writing. So from a stranger to you, your talent is worth to be recognised as a triumph.
