Energy

Energy

A Poem by Crowley

I awoke to the blessed sound of the universe expanding
The fact that I drew breath that morning evidence enough
That I was a part, big or small, primetime or extra, of the exponential growth
I ate breakfast as energy, I worked as energy, I wrote as energy
Oh and I loved as only a creator can love, passionately, with my socks on

Look at you, you bundle of life, look long into the mirror
And take stock of how deep your eyes truly are and smile
Your day has just begun and yet you know by the end, you will have built empires
That poem you wrote is a bridge, that story a skyscraper, that painting, good lord, that painting

Come sit with me and let's hold hands and talk about what makes us happy, because it all should
Come lay with me and let's hold hands and think about how to make the world happy, but not at our expense
Come walk with me and lets hold hands and not say a thing until the universe needs our input

I so prefer your poetic interpretation of energy, as opposed to the scientific one, that pretty much dashes reality on the rocks; it's all just an illusion they propound. Even dear old Einstein rather sat on the fence when he said that, 'reality is merely an illusion, although a very persistent one;' though perhaps not a surprising stance given he was not just a mathematician and a physicist, but as evidenced by the quote below, also a rather decent poet.

'Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute,
and it seems like an hour.
Sit with a pretty girl for an hour,
and it seems like a minute.
That's relativity.”

Beccy.

This is great Crowley and it's a pleasure to read something so positive and with so much hope. There is such a feeling of impending room around now we need to accentuate the positive more. Your last line in verse 2 is my favourite. The repetition in verse 3 works well.
All the best.

Thank you sir! The review and comments are so appreciated.
from one artist to another...love is growing together, breathing together, creating together...and knowing we are helping to expand some universe out there...
the pulse of artistic expansion...we hope the universe needs us, calls on us, lets us contribute..
and then?
we've mattered.

You and me both. I just disappeared. Makes me sad when that happens. Thank you so much my friend!
I like this; an encouraging, gentle message to creators, making them feel wanted and needed. :)

Thank you so much...I really appreciate it!
Would be a better world, if we slow down. Talks to each other. Holding hands and coffee. Best times we shall know. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.
