literally, a question

literally, a question

A Poem by Heather Hassell
"

no really, please give me some thoughts on this.

"

there's this question

that has been

relentlessly bouncing

about my

brain lately.

are human

beings

capable of seeing

things simply

as they are

or

do our expectations

of what they

should be

distort their

perception?

We are experts at distorting the truth to suit ourselves....Interesting poem

I believe we see what we want to see. Been tested. Same people see a incident. All will have a different view on it. Perception is where you are standing and what it effects in our life. A very good topic in the poem. Open the door to a long conversation. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

It depends on your expectations. Expecting more from something than what it can actually do just leads to disappointment. The possibility to see things for what they are is definitely there though. I love swinging by to read your poems. Always something new that makes me think. Nice work Heather! :)
