The Sphinx

The Sphinx

A Poem by Haim Kadman
"

A dream

"

Although

I'm not travelling

to Egypt lately

a Sphinx keeps visiting

my dreams repeatedly

It's rather nice

that without a visa

I meet him here

And not in Giza

On the other hand

He hasn't opened

His mouth yet,

And thus maybe

I'd better meet

The Oracule

of Delfi,

half his words

I can't understand

But I can always

Pretend

That I'm listening

And I do comprehend

His predictions

On my fate
