I am the great I am

I am the great I am

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

I am the great I am
I am spent.
I have plenty.
I am empty.
I am full.
No sadness numbs me.

All sadness consumes me.
No joy can I see.

All joy is in my grasp.
No anger kindles within me.
All anger burns me deeply.

No pleasure can I feel.
All pleasure assaults me.
I am beyond all this.
I float in a void.
There is no darkness.
There is no light.
I am at peace.
The war is done.
The struggle is over.
I understand nothing.
I understand all.
I am a man of many opposites.
I am a being of light.
I am a being of darkness.
I am a demon.
I am an angel.
I am the devil.
I am the god.
I am all things.
I am nothing.
I am okay with all of this.
I do exist, therefore, I know I am.
I am the great I am.

You are welcome my friend.
This is a very interesting theme surrounding the poem. The writer feels as if they are great, but with nothing. It makes the reader wonder more about the poem.
