If I die today a virgin

If I die today a virgin

A Poem by Heather

If I die today a virgin
Would Death be my first?
His kiss
Foreplay
His hands
Rocking my breasts
Side to side
We'd find our rhythm
And He'd take me
My body shaking
Until it shakes no more.

Gone now
Short
Sharp
Breaths like a
Canine pant, put under
Meeting its grave
A love bed
With Death
Our universal lover.

But soon,
My love,
I'm no longer Death's maiden.
You'll taste me
And smell me
And touch me
Until I'm not myself
I'm yours.

Yesterday
I was a virgin
Tomorrow I'm not
It's true.
Darling
If I die today
I'm a virgin
In only one more way than you.

Love Emily Dickinson so I appreciate the compliment!
Interesting concept. I'm not sure I fully understand the ending, but the overall theme and narrative is intriguing, and really makes readers think. Well done!

Interesting poem. Death seems to be almost a character in many poems. I like that their is a wide variety of personalities of Death. I don't think I've read one from this perspective. Well-written!
