ROLLIN WHEELS

A Poem by anthony blake

Wheels of Motion

"

This is Trucker 19

The weather is just fine

A Hound Bus has just passed

That Hound Bus has a schedule and is moving fast

But Trucker 19 is moving on just cruise

In no rush, but am enthused

I may be driving but I am certainly not confused

Yeah, I have a schedule myself

But I am ON-TIME

I am driving on Interstate 78

On that route, no one is really late

That is something all drivers can appreciate

It’s a new day and I am still alive

In about 4 hours is when my destination I shall arrive

Another Hound Bus just passed by

The Hound Bust just signaled, and changed lanes

But it’s just another day as a Trucker driving endless miles

Thinking throughout while

This is Trucker 19

Got all my load of freight combined

After this run, I will head to the bar for a little wine

I am on schedule mode

Destination arrived with my own behold.

Not sure a trucker would go into a bar and order a glass of wine, but I know. I said wine in a poem once, even though in reality, it was a Pink Squirrel...for the rhyme.
Your rhyme scheme was new to me, but it certainly works. I was with you, man, until the last line, which seemed weak to me. I probably would have written something about 'the end of the road'.
Just a suggestion. Up until that final line, I think this is a fine piece of writing.
