Breathe Easy

Breathe Easy

A Poem by Heath Rumble
"

This clearly stems from what my girlfriend and I call my Knight in Shining Armour complex.

"

Breathe easy this night.

Ghosts of devils waft like

Smoke from an extinct

Candle into the moon-shed

Night.

Where you are, is touched,

Ever so gently

By the golden seams of the

Dying sunset,

Just light enough

To pierce the gray that

Envelopes you.

Breath easy.

Let your sobs fall out

Onto the dusty floor,

And your head fall

Onto my eager shoulder.

Let your tears be wiped

Away,

With the hint of a kiss.

Listen,

As the curtains recite their

Scratchy eulogy,

Upon the faint wind.

Here in the darkness

Surrounded by

Dissipating voices of anger,

Borne in the shadow of my arms

You are safe

I assure.

Just wait for me

And breathe easy.

Author's Note

Heath Rumble
is this too melodramatic? I don't want to sound like some sappy high schooler.
