A Dream Above Us

A Dream Above Us

A Poem by Heath Rumble

For tonight I see angels.
They beckon me to a realm
Above us.
Above our violence
And misery.
Above the curved surface
Of the Earth,
Dotted sharply with greed
And covered by flashing thunder storms
of hate.
Tonight I float into empty darkness
Encompassed by clouds.
I float on a surging wave of joy.

But as I lay upon this bubbling
River of bliss
The night slips back away
Like a tide
In the sea of
Space.
I fall back to the
Quarrelsome
Cavernous
Clouds of man,
Sucked in by
Thundering myst
And flashing haze
And suffocated
By the smog
Of a thousand burning dreams.

Heath Rumble
is it just bad? I'm always horrible at telling if my writing sucks. I need you to tell me.
