Ballet Shoes

Ballet Shoes

A Poem by ~Blue Fantasy~
"

The love of Ballet

"

Ballet Shoes

Your satin skin so light and pink.

I slip you on my dainty feet.

I lace the ribbons around my legs.

I tie two bows and stand upon my toes.

What beautiful form we make together.

I glide on the floor light as a feather.

I watch in the mirror as I dance.

Oh, so beautiful I’m in a trance.

The notes of music carry me away.

Oh, how I wish I could stay.

Now the music has come to its end.

I’ll have to wait for my next dance to begin.

The words themselves seem like a beautiful dance across the page. Lovely!

smooth as silk your poem spins much like a music box with delicate ballerina~as one who took ballet for twelve years~one who embraced the art of grace and movement~ this poem is a nostalgic trip back for me through time to beautiful days~

Your satin skin so light and pink.

I slip you on my dainty feet.

I lace the ribbons around my legs.

I tie two bows and stand upon my toes.

the sensate description within these for lines is exquisitely remdered~

This poem is dainty and light on my tongue as I read it. It reminds me of light pinks and beautiful dances. Only one critique: "Now the music has come to it's end". "It's" should be "Its", that's just a tiny typo though. The rest of this poem is really amazing. I lovelovelove the last line. And I also like, "the notes... carry me away, oh how i wish i could stay." You haven't made it clear why you're leaving, and that leaves a lot of emotion to be had in this poem. great write
