My Ausume daughter

My Ausume daughter

A Poem by child of God

My daughter is autistic
The dictionary defines that as
A serious developmental disorder
That impairs the ability
To communicate and interact.
But what they don't say is
How amazingly kind they are.
The smile on my daughter's
Face when she has completed
A wonderful line.It's her
Greatest achievement
Yet to the world its an
Inability to interact
To you she's whining
But think she had to
sit In a car where
she hears the tires spinning
She feels every small bump
The windows down?
She hears all the other tires
the wind in her ears
your playing music?
She feels that base
She's going to meltdown
It's not just one thing
She deserves kindness
Not hatred and more
Discipline
Yes autism has
It's ups and downs
I won't deny it
But don't deny
My daughter
Because you only
See the meltdowns
She doesn't fit in your box
She makes her own box
I won't force her in yours
I want to see her box
I would love to open her box
To the world
Your box needs hers
When she is ready
She will
I won't change her
I love how
She calls bunny's
Hop hops
I love her play
My Stimy owl
Stim on
I won't force
her voice out
I'll be her voice
She's in no rush
She's kind
She's smart
She's brave
She's autistic
