The Little Sheet of Music

The Little Sheet of Music

A Poem by kollaboratyve
"

a poem of observation

"
It fell from the piano to the floor
a single leaf of music shadowed by thousands of eyes near
only one saw its fall
It lay lifeless surrounded by throngs of the living
patiently waiting
to become a pleasant sound in the electric air
voices draw near
the little sheet of music lay lonely on the floor
unfortunately mistaken for trash and burned to live no more

Art Tatum, that giant of American piano music in the 40's and 50's never read from sheet music.
Not because he didn't know how but his eyesight was poor and he couldn't see it anyway. In other
words what you don't see, cannot and will not disturb the creative process. I love the ideas you
present here. The imagery is that of good days and good ideas to come.

well done.

Being a musician myself this title pulled me in. It's short by powerful. Thanks for sharing.

It is a heartbreaking imagery and you are quite an observer. The sheet music mistaken for trash in its short entity time period was lucky to have an observer like you pen down its epitaph.
Nice write.

The ending is upsetting. Good imagery.
