The Sunset

The Sunset

A Poem by BlueShadow

The Sunset

Yellow, orange, and deep red

The sun sets dimming the earth

Its radiance fades away from view

As we begin to say goodbye to its beauty

The sun slowly leaves the horizon

Where shadows creep up on us

As the sky begins to turn darker and darker

The sky is nearly black

The sun is gone and here is the night

With the moon in view

The sun’s love is gone and what remains

Is the moon’s indifference to mankind

The sinking sun. So much has been written about that disc as it slips below the horizon. Your poem moves from deep colours into blackness. I enjoyed the imagery. The good thing about sunsets is that they are followed by sunrises.

It's a nice write , dark could be spreading its own love too by the moon's light , its radiance falling on the people , gives a caressing touch on the mankind , Don't forget black is color too , where there is white , there is room for black too
