Death

Death

A Poem by Christopher Kennedy

In the mind, there is a wonderful land
where dreams collide with imagination
you’re free, alive, with your innovation
nothing is empty and nothing is bland;
Is there a perfect, omnipotent land?
For me, there is no such indication
of ethereal life post our creation.
Our paradise has been by our own hand

Instead of heaven, I imagine rest
We lie forever in nonexistence,
No chains to tie us to things we must do
But we admit we did all of our best
to live happy lives without resistance
and in a tragic world, we made it through.
