Weep Not For Me This Christmas

Weep Not For Me This Christmas

A Poem by icelandicblue

Weep not for me this Christmas

as you lay the Yuletide boughs.

I am free from all this sickness,

I am at peace I can avow.

You feel this loss profoundly

when surround by delight.

Please know I loved you soundly

Sweet love 'twill be all right.

My soul calls now for fields

free to embrace the coming cold,

my heart be finally healed

at birth sorrows were foretold.

Life loses its sweet shine

and our many moments  fleeting.

For always I'll be thine

though my heart has now stopped beating.

I will lie beneath this meadow deep

I shall sleep the sleep of sages.

Visit still, yet do not weep

for I am now the dust of ages.

Thank you Ana.
Awesome, awesome piece and instant classic here.

Lost my father years ago so I know of the pain and emptiness ... but the voice I heard while reading this speaks louder than his. Without getting too deep, this goes beyond.

Thanks for sharing a masterpiece!

Thank you Antonyo. I am sorry it's a pain we share.
I lost my father last month and this is the first Christmas of my life without him in this world. For me, it was him speaking to me right away. Thank you for this beautiful and touching poem.

Thank you Brit. I appreciate it.
Wonderful rhythm Icelandicblue, your rhymes were relevant and unforced. I liked reading this., I like poetry interspersed with subtle elements of archaic literature used by the masters of old. Good stuff

Thank you so very much. I will be sure to read some more of your work soon.
Sometimes, when I read these kinds of poems, I wonder...if I could send a message back to my loved ones after God takes me Home...what would it be?
I think it would be very simple.
Just...
Remember that I love you...

Thanks Frieda, it's hard for me to find the holly jolly these days. I know you know what I mean.
This poem is very elegantly crafted: the rhyme is perfect and delicate, the rhthym flows nicely, and the theme you're conveying is an ocean of many depths. Keep up the spectacular work!
