Drunk Poetry

Drunk Poetry

A Poem by Isabel Brianne
"

A small poem I wrote at 3:14 in the morning after 12 shots.

"
A never ending spiral
Slips into my bones
Miles of sadness
Carved into my soul
Cavities and hollowness
Make me feel at home
Another shot down
Artificial warmth glows
Slipping into smiles
My woes are translucent
It's so easy to forget
How hard it is to live

I haven't been drunk in years. I don't like voluntarily putting myself at the same level as an elderly person who can't walk.

Your poem however neatly describes someone not in control of their lives. I've had friends who died from complications stemming from alcoholism.

Excellent writing Isabel.

there is so much meaning withing these small short verses is incredible. The way you can have such vivid pictures and feelings within this.

I think this poem makes too much sense for 12 shots! You have expressed beautifully how alcohol can blot out the woes of life.
Well done.

That's what being drunk means isn't it? To forget the hardships of living each day. I hear the words, and I can imagine of living in such a state where we need to get drunk to forget "How hard it is to live". Very well done...

Sincerely
Dhiman
