Golden Flowers

Golden Flowers

A Poem by Isabel Brianne
"

Coping with loss

"
Is it selfish
To ask for you to stay?
I'm afraid to be alone
Yet you look so peaceful where you lay

Maybe you'd be happier
Far away from here
In a field of golden flowers
With those you once held dear

Can you wait a little longer
I'm on my knees to pray
I've never been self-centered
But I'm changing that today

Though it may waver
My voice rings crystal clear
Please God give him back
He's still needed many years

I guess he had plans
Or it was a busy day
But know he met a good man
When he took you away

If we live, sooner or later we grieve. Faith can ease it, but not take it away. And it shouldn't.
