Like Oil and WaterA Poem by LenaHave you ever met the wrong person who had the right touch?Ego
and Pride, that’s the wave that you ride Truth
and honor, that the path that I follow A
picture of lasting bliss we two do not depict Because
like oil and water, we two just don’t mix
Yet,
when thrown together in shaky weather` We
reach for each other as though we know no better When
our foundation is moved and our emotions stir We
explode passionately and our primal needs concur
But, when once again our worlds settle down When
intense emotions are spent Then
starts the process to unravel what we shared between and betwixt Because
like oil and water, our brand of love just don’t mix
I
look for someone whose word is his bond, Whose
sense of right and wrong is consistent and strong I
look for someone whose love is trustworthy, who
with dedication and devotion will always respect me
You
look for one whose outer appearance displays the latest flare, Whose
desire for objects of prestige is expressed with much fanfare Your
taste runs to the demonstrative who exhibits with great drama And
for your continued attention they are willing to display with unsavory karma
Yet, a little of all these traits we must both possess Because
when our worlds tilt, we come together in sensual bliss Then
when the storm passes and our worlds right themselves And
once again our emotions are temporarily shelved, We
bring to a closure our repertoire of love making tricks Because
like oil and water, we two don’t mix © 2017 LenaReviews
