small, quiet corner

small, quiet corner

A Poem by Shapirta
"

a poem on reading!

"
settle down in a small, quiet corner
with a book  about our country's border
shrinking to make yourself shorter
about as tiny as a quarter
in that small, quiet corner

It is one of the best feelings to just sink into a quiet corner and read for hours. I used to do that all the time at bookstores. Losing yourself in stories is an amazing feeling. This also reminded me of the song "In My Own Little Corner" from Rodger's and Hammerstein's version of Cinderella.

If you can look up the broadway music you may like it. :-)

I like this especially the size of this work. However, in line 4 when you use "small" i feel like you could use a similar word like tiny or something like that to make the line stronger and have more depth. Other than that good work!!

After reading the prequel to this poem and commenting on how it could be more personal, this is on the track of what I meant by personal. I also like the line "shrinking to make yourself shorter." I also like the imagery. Good job! :)

Interesting. Makes me wonder if you are reading History or Alice in Wonderland.
