When Night Falls Asleep

When Night Falls Asleep

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

When it gets dark!

"

     When night falls asleep
Wind chime stars in cobalt sky
     Ample moon round above
A golden lamp of bright light
Dark veils the earth in nighttime

     Fireflies dance in colors
     Crickets orchestrating music
     Mellow owls sing a song
     Wind whistles a jolly tune
     Silence suddenly falls like rain

      Then rest fills the air
Eyes close slowly to slumber time
      Twilight dreams come true
       Breathing becomes more relaxed
Night falls into a deep sleep

Gee
Have spent many a summer night sitting out with my wife and daughter as dusk turns to dark.
You describe this beautifully Kathy

Thank you!
Amazing creatures take over the nighttime and it can be a spectacular show; Owls hoot, crickets click, fireflies dance, wind whistles, frogs gurgle, cicadas scream; yet all of this is a symphony of love, of our earth; when silence falls in the forest, it's time to dream.
lovely!
Best, B

You're very welcome!
What a powerful time, so often shrouded in shadows, but flooded with life, with music, with the light of fireflies. Here we drift into dreams, and yet a world is awakening in wildness. Beautiful!

Nice to see you craig! Thanks for the review!
Very lovely, my favorite time is nightfall in the summer when all the insects sing, star gazing, dreaming, chillin’, can’t wait! I enjoyed this very much :)

Lately my dreams were nightmares. In dreams, we see tomorrow or we drown in sadness. Powerful and strong thoughts shared dear poet. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry dear friend.

You are welcome, dear Kathy.
I like your images. Sleeping nights dreaming of dancing fireflies. Crickets lead the silent song sung in the light of the dark. Wonderfully contradictory!

A feast of lovely imagery and sounds of the night. Love the hoot of the owl. Reassuring to know he is wide awake. Very nice posted image as well Kathy.
